Ladies and gentlemen, the committee hope that you are all keeping safe and well. We had a meeting this evening in person where many topics of discussion were on the agenda.

As there has been NO CHANGE in government guidelines, the committee are still unable to authorise or allow darts to resume. We have a duty of care to all our members and we shall continue to enforce the duty of care for all of your safety and well being.

As there has been no change in guidelines the 2019/2020 league is still suspended. If and when we are given the all clear and allowed to play darts again by the government and the relevant authorities, we will be moving very quickly as we know how much everybody has missed playing darts.

The committee has decided that we would very much like to continue the 2019/2020 winter season to completion.

The reasons for the decision are because:-

a) We have completed so much of the season it would be shame for it to finish with so few games to play.

b) It gives our venues a welcome boost when the visitors to Dorset return home from holidays.

c) This gives every venue and team captain the time to adapt to see how darts can and will be played in the future.

d) Every pub and club are having to deal with new rules and regulations almost weekly and are adapting to the very best they can and the Wimborne League wishes to help.

The committee, like yourselves, cannot predict the future and have no idea as to what is going to happen. We did have a discussion regarding “next season” and do have plans in place for various scenarios as to how to move forward. These ideas/thoughts will be put to you when the time is right.

Thank you all very much for your patience and understanding. We always appreciate your help and feedback in these unprecedented times but just a reminder that as it says on the rules page on the website that “Our league is a friendly, but competitive, local league”.

Please refrain from swearing on our Facebook page so not to cause offence to anybody.

Many thanks, please take care of yourselves
