Another stunning performance from Scott – who I’ve chosen to nickname Scotty “Bull” Dog Mitchell after another long line of big checkouts and bull finishes.
Scott seemingly eased into a 3-1 lead, but that does a disservice to the great darts Brian Dawson was throwing too, and Dawson got the next set to close it to 3-2 after a shaky set from Scott.
Dawson was always pushing, but Scott’s finishing was superb and so many big finishes (142, 142, 132, 129 and 126) Dawson when he got a chances was more often than not, only left with one dart to win the leg, with Scotty pouncing if he missed. A stunning 132 checkout to take his fourth set was the killer blow (25-57-Bull) and Scott finished off the next set off nicely for a 5-2 victory.

Averaging around 96 is great shooting in BDO and sets Scott up nicely for a semi final on Saturday against Jeff Smith from Canada.
The semi final match is scheduled for Saturday 10th January, between 14:35-16:30 BBC One
